Welcom to High Shoals Falls RV Park

Appalachian Campgroud is Now HighShoals Falls RV Park!

Since the late 1970s, Appalachin Campground has been a favorite destination in the North Georgia Mountains. Unfortunately, in recent years, it succumbed to neglect and disrepair. Local Hiawassee son Johnathan Messer assumed management in late 2024. Johnathan initiated an extensive renovation that is still ongoing. Some of the great upgrades here include:

  • Installed wood deck on all River Sites. Each deck has a clay chimenea fireplace.

  • Regrading and leveling of all sites to

  • Fresh Gravel throughout all drives and sites.

  • Installed 50 amp electal serice to all sites

  • Redecorated the Cabins

  • Remodled the Bathhouse and Laundy Room

Welcome to High Shoals Falls RV Park!

We felt that with so many upgrades, the old campground deserved to be reborn under a new, more appropriate name.

The Bathhouse shower rooms have been nicely remodeled.

Come enjoy the Amazing Moody Hollow Micro Climate!

Nestled in a small valley between Blue Mountain and Rocky Mountain, High Shoals Falls RV Park benefits from a unique microclimate that is cooled by its altitude, the Hiawassee River, and High Shoals Creek. Our temperatures consistently range eight to ten degrees cooler than those in the Metro Atlanta area, and we tend to be one or two degrees cooler than the nearby town of Hiawassee. This past August, we only had a few days when temperatures reached the 90s, with most nights cooling down to the 60s and 70s.

Your best boys ever are free to be walked on a leash around the park. Our two large open fields are designated as off-leash areas. Coming in 2026, a large fenced-in dog park will be located in the front field.
